Chrome extension privacy policy

This policy covers the Familiar Chrome extension only. It explains what the extension reads from your property management system (PMS), what it stores in your browser, and what it shows you. Familiar's handling of your workspace data as a whole is governed by your existing agreement with Familiar.
Who this applies to
The extension is available to users of a Familiar workspace with an active subscription or trial. It does nothing until you sign in to Familiar and explicitly connect it, and it can be disconnected at any time from the connect page — which revokes the credential it uses.
What the extension reads from your PMS
On a supported PMS page (Mews, Opera Cloud, MisterBooking, TesiPro/Ulyses), the extension reads the identifier of the guest or reservation currently on screen — normally from the page URL, and from the page content where a PMS does not put it in the URL. That identifier is sent to the Familiar API to find the matching customer record in your own workspace. Nothing else on the page is read, collected or transmitted. The extension does not read your PMS credentials, and it runs only on the PMS domains listed in its manifest.
What is stored in your browser
In extension storage on your device: • An access token and its expiry, created when you connect. This is the credential the extension uses to call the Familiar API on your behalf. • The property you last selected in the panel, so it is remembered between sessions. • A short-lived cache of API responses, held for about five seconds to avoid repeat requests while you move between pages. It is cleared when the browser session ends and whenever you disconnect. Disconnecting, or signing out, clears the stored token.
What the extension shows
Customer information already held in your Familiar workspace: contact details, lifetime stay statistics, recent reservations, survey responses and an AI-generated guest overview, plus arrivals, departures and recent survey submissions for the selected property. This is your workspace's own data. The extension displays it — it does not create new records, and it never writes back to your PMS.
What the extension does not do
• It does not sell or transfer your data, or any guest's data, to third parties. • It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and does not profile your browsing. • It sends data to no service other than the Familiar API. • It does not download or execute remote code. • It does not use the data for any purpose unrelated to showing you guest context inside your PMS.
Retention
Data stored in your browser is removed when you disconnect the extension, uninstall it, or clear your browser data; the access token also expires on its own. Data held in Familiar is retained under your existing agreement and the retention settings of your workspace, not by the extension.
